Reaching 5 years with Diane

What I love most about my job is the diversity – no two days are the same

Celebrating her five year milestone at Pinstone, Diane Bristow, tells us why she loves her chosen career path in agri-business and rural PR.

“I instantly knew that the job with Pinstone was for me – it teamed my passion for agriculture and the rural environment with my newly acquired degree – and here I am five years on, I’ve never looked back.

One of the things I love most about the job is the diversity – no two days are the same. One day you can be developing a strategic PR and marketing campaign for an animal health client and the next you might be out on farm filming, writing a blog or developing social media content. They say variety is the spice of life!

It’s not to say that agency life doesn’t bring its challenges, and flexibility and the ability to prioritise are key. But there’s no better feeling than getting a top quality result that’s bang on message and delivers exactly what we set out to do.

And, working in such a dynamic job means there is plenty of opportunity for career progression. Since joining Pinstone in 2010, I have progressed from an account executive to account manager which means I now have day to day responsibility for a portfolio of client accounts, as well as working closely with the wider team to help them in building their own career paths.

It’s definitely been an exciting five years, with a name change thrown in too, but here’s to the next five.

My passion for agriculture stems from being brought up on a dairy farm on the Warwickshire border. And upon graduating from Harper Adams, I knew I wanted to start a career working in a related industry.
