Last chance to apply for Farmers Weekly Awards

There’s just a matter of days left until the 30 April 2020 deadline for this year’s Farmers Weekly Awards.

The ceremony is still currently set to go ahead on 1 October and is a real highlight in the farming calendar and celebrates the very best of British agriculture. Being shortlisted or winning an award is not only a great achievement but it can provide great credibility and drive excellent PR for a farmer or business.

What are the Farmers Weekly Awards?

The prestigious awards feature categories that celebrate farmers and companies leading the way and inspiring others.

Held at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London, the event promises to be a night to remember. Guests will be treated to a drinks reception and three course dinner before the awards presentation, followed by a live band to celebrate in style.

What categories are there?

The categories are all judged by a panel of industry leaders and experts in agriculture through a rigorous two stage selection process. The options are as follows:

  • Ag Student of the Year
  • Arable Adviser of the Year
  • Arable Farmer of the Year
  • Beef Farmer of the Year
  • Contractor of the Year
  • Dairy Farmer of the Year
  • Diversification Farmer of the Year
  • Grassland Manager of the Year
  • Livestock Adviser
  • Farm Manager of the Year
  • Mixed Farmer of the Year
  • Pig Farmer of the Year
  • Poultry Farmer of the Year
  • Sheep Farmer of the Year
  • Young Farmer of the Year

How to enter or nominate

Before you can enter yourself for an award you need to visit the entries page and create an account by completing a short form.

Then you can start your submission. This involves filling in a few details about yourself before answering a list of questions around what makes you suitable for the award. There’s also an option to upload supporting documents. When you’re happy with everything, you can submit the entry.

If you’re looking to nominate somebody else, the process is slightly different. This time you’ll need to visit the nominations page.

All you then need to do is complete a quick form with a few details about yourself and your nominee before hitting the ‘nominate now’ button.
