Keeping Britain’s Horses Healthy

MSD Animal Health

The brief

We were tasked with taking the campaign ‘Keeping Britain’s Horses Healthy’ (KBHH) campaign to horse owners through digital platforms and consumer PR. The campaign is a vehicle for MSD Animal Health to talk to their equine customers about preventative steps that can be taken to keep horses healthy, in a non-commercial capacity.

With active accounts on Facebook and Twitter we visited the Royal Welsh Showground ahead of the annual Royal Welsh Show to talk to the Society about horse health at shows publishing the interviews on the social media channels.

We worked collaboratively with the Society to get a range of content so that we can go out prior to the event, when interest is at its peak, to capitalise on the social noise.

The result

We captured timely and topical social media content that gave the KBHH community a behind the scenes look at a key industry event. All of the communications were in line with the client’s key messages on vaccinations and biosecurity.

The value of a non-commercial brand

Having a ‘commercial’ campaign under the guise of a non-commercial brand can make it more relatable, it can also make campaigns more lifestyle orientated which can be important for engaging the target audience. It also typically results in more engagement and traction because the content isn’t penalised for being commercial.
